HGI on the Right Tracks

12th January 2009

Harrington Generators was the first UK company to seek Rail Track (later becoming Network Rail) approval for a range of portable petrol powered generators. They were designed to be used trackside and to be totally reliable in operation and totally safe to use.  No compromise has been made with the engine or the alternator, or indeed the frame, which includes end cover and ballast protection. The electrical output is CTE and individual sockets are protected by CB's on both ways. The frame is still unique in that it can safely stack four high thus saving a lot of space back at the depot.

Torrent Trackside, however, could see that changes to the fuel tank could make the set safer still. The existing 11 litre metal fuel tank was replaced by another metal tank which is built to direct fuel away from the hot exhaust. Couple this with the new Honda emissions compliant fuel cap and you have an uprated Rail petrol set safer than ever.  It is working in partnership with companies like Torrent, that enable HGI to provide the very best in generator value.
